9 days to go…..

I’m told by those further up the chain that this time it’s actually achievable. Final inspection must be happening soon. Can’t wait.

Here we go again. 12 days to go…..

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh. Another extension. Aparrently the seller’s seller hasn’t got their a into g.

Has anyone out there got a nice house they’re willing to sell. Can you move out in say, 2 days?

6 days to go…..

I spoke to the settlement agent and the bank manager on the phone today. It looks like this thing might happen after all.

7 days to go…..

[singlepic id=145 w=320 h=240 float=left]Got a ‘Read Receipt’ from the settlement agent but no reply.

Got an ‘Out of office reply’ from the bank manager.

Aaaaargh why can’t I get an answer. I want to know what’s happening. Or more to the point why it’s not happening.

The countdown is on!

Land transfer documents got lost, the bank hasn’t issued stamp duty cheque. Nobody seems worried. Ahh it’s all going so well.

Field Box / Charger

[singlepic id=142 w=320 h=240 float=right]Every RC modeller has some sort of support equipment. There are plenty of occasions flying electrics when all you need is your model and transmitter but for any kind of extended flying session you need more on hand, especially a charger.

My field box is pushing 14 years old now and on its third coat of paint. It started life providing support for my .40 Aeroflyte Hustler. Now the tin of fuel on the end has gone and it’s full of gear for my ‘leccy planes. I bought my Swallow charger a while ago from my local hobby shop Ace RC Models and it’s been serving me very well. I thought it was time I sorted out something permanent yet versatile. Read the rest of this entry>>

My disappointing outing

Today I visited a RC Aircraft club in Perth (who shall remain nameless) with a view to joining. It’s always so much better to share a hobby with like minded individuals, plus club and MAAA membership brings extra benefits such as recognised training, qualifications and insurance.

I was hoping to be able to post a rave review about the club and the day I had. While I did have fun I came away very disappointed. Read the rest of this entry »

Wowings Duck Video

It’s such a shame I haven’t had the opportunity to fly this one much. Here’s a video that was taken on the day of her maiden flight. More information on the duck and photos can be found here

Swift II Flying Wing Video

Everything lined up today, the weather has been ideal and Kristy & I both had the day off. So we walked the dog and flew the Swift. Kristy agreed to do the video again – thanks gorgeous! There are some photos of the Swift here.

Charcoal Lamb Roast

[singlepic id=132 w=320 h=240 float=right]No that’s not what I did to it, it’s what I cooked it with! I thought we’d run out of Heat Beads so it was off to my least favourite hardware shop (‘coz they’re the only ones open at absurd hours). They had no name heat beads there but didn’t have any barbecue pictures on them so we weren’t sure if they were safe for use with food. (They had pictures of chiminea’s & braziers etc). Kristy talked me into getting a box of charcoal.

The charcoal is brilliant, it lights easier than the Heat Beads & the food tasted better. We did Pork last weekend and lamb this weekend. The left over half burned charcoal was easy to use again and I only needed a tiny bit of new stuff out of the box. Since you can’t enjoy the delicious, moist, perfectly cooked lamb, you’ll just have to stare at my artsy burning charcoal picture.
